Cuban Composer Osvaldo Farrés who for 13 years hosted "Bar Melódico de Osvaldo Farres," one of the most popular television programs in Cuba, the Cuban equivalent of “The Ed Sullivan Show” in the United States. The program attracted to Havana international artists like Nat King Cole who recorded Farrés’ “Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps” in 1958.

These Farrés songs from the 30’s and 40’s have been redone “in the latest styles”, which was Farrés’ wish for his own music.
His songs are being interpreted in this tribute by Puerto Rican trumpeter Julius Melendez, father of Osvaldo's own great-grandson.

Julius, collaborating with Jonathan Alford and Dave Weeks, has updated the sound of Latin Jazz while staying connected to some deep New York, Puerto Rican, and Cuban roots. Melendez is a veteran bandleader and award-winning trumpeter whose passionate trumpet and romantic flugelhorn have inspired fans in the 92 countries around the world where he has performed.

This tribute to Osvaldo Farres is his debut as a Latin Jazz Soloist.
